Dollarama’s princess dolls, skipping balls, toy furniture, and other children's toys have been recalled from its stores for containing excessive levels of toxic phthalates.

If children are over-exposed to these dangerous chemicals they run the risk of developmental abnormalities and reproductive health risks.

And this recall of Dollarama’s toys happened not once, but twice last year. Not just a few toys, its over 600,000 toxic toys have been recalled from Dollarama in the last year.

We have a plan to get the dollar store to keep our kids safe. We’re heading to Dollarama’s giant investor meeting in a month to tell executives to change the way Dollarama does business and prevent toxins from getting on the shelves -- and a massive petition could be just the pressure it needs to agree.  

Call on Dollarama to stop toxins in its supply chain now!

Dollarama, the Montreal-based, billion-dollar corporation, claims that it is committed to high health and environmental standards and yet it hasn’t looked at or changed its standards in over 7 years.

We know that the first step in ensuring that workers and customers alike are not exposed to toxic products is to put strong policies in place -- which is why we are proposing exactly that at this year’s big investors meeting.

It's investor meeting season for corporations right now -- and SumOfUs is going to calling on five different greedy corporations across the country to do the right thing on their biggest day of the year. Last month, we were at TD's meeting calling on the bank to stop funding climate change. And just two days ago, we delivered tens of thousands of SumOfUs signatures to Loblaw's executives calling on it to pay a living wage. If we can get enough signatures, we can make a big splash at Dollarama’s annual meeting next month.
